About Alingsås Keramik 1947-1973

AB Alingsås keramik was founded in the district of Holmalund Alingsås in 1947. The founders were Halvard Gustav Leander Oldberg, born in Film Uppsala county on September 3, 1917 and Fritz Hilding Canemark, born in Hjorted Kalmar county on November 20, 1915. Initially, mainly enamel work was produced under the name "Emaljstudion" , but some ceramic objects were also made. At the beginning of the 1950s, they start looking at Tilgman's ceramics, which soon shows in the production, and around 1953, ceramic production takes off with, among other things, export to the USA and other countries.
