This petite, unglazed dish/bowl belonging to the "Blå Eld" series showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of the artist Hertha Bengtsson for Rörstrand, dating from 1950 to 1970. Measuring 9.6 x 8.5cm and weighing 46g, it bears the distinctive stamp of Rörstrand Sweden.

The absence of glaze is a very rare feature this series, and has bestowed upon it a remarkable patina, adding to its allure. While this patina can likely be washed away, doing so may diminish the three-dimensional essence that it imparts to the intricate pattern.

Hertha Bengtson's vision materialized in the form of "Blå Eld" (Blue Fire) during the golden era of Swedish ceramics in 1950. Manufactured by the Rörstrand factory until 1971, the series comprises approximately 40 pieces of tableware crafted from flintware. Characterized by sleek forms and a fishbone pattern relief, the glaze comes in unicolored variations of blue, white, red, gray, or green. The series draws its name, in part, from the "Blåeld" (Blueweed) flower.
